A data-driven application for LA Times' readers to research local crime activity
The Los Angeles Times consistently gathers criminal activity, and maps it to specific locations on its web site. An Android-specific tablet application was concepted and created for new devices.
The Los Angeles Times' data journalism team worked with my UX team at Tribune Technology to design and develop an Android app showcasing crime in LA. We worked closely in researching the data, talking with users and readers, and designing then testing the application.
Tablet App Design
I worked with another designer to create an Android tablet application that was data-driven. I conducted user research and designed the wireframes for the app. The other designer completed the UI mockups, with me serving as lead on the project.
